Personal Work: Studio Furniture

The research, the exploration, the whole creative thought process to create something unique, evocative, and a little 'unexpected' is why I love doing what I do. Whether I'm working with wood, glass, stone or metal, the materials often influence the direction I take the design. In my personal work I tend to use whatever materials I come across that inspirer me and if it happens to be random free-cycled objects, even better! Having to work within the set physical perimeters of found objects with given limitations can be particularly challenging, but I find it fun! I enjoy the critical thinking required to transform these otherwise discarded objects into something entirely new and relevant again, and inherently a little nostalgic!
